Another Time is a continuously growing research library focused on aircraft manufactured between 1930 and 1950. We provide detailed information, advertisements, books, drawings and photos to aircraft owners, artists, researchers, restorers, industry writers, etc. Here we post commentary on researching, restoring and flying vintage aircraft from another time.

TBM Avenger Throwback Photo
30 years ago! A way back photo from 1989. An airshow in Waco, Texas that my dad and I went to and met the crew from the Lone Star Flight Museum. We were offered tours of the B-25, Super T-6 and TBM. Here I am in the TBM. I has been refurbished and returned to flying with Sanders Aeronautics in California. After all these years it is cool to know this TBM is active and flying.

He111/CASA2111 Cavanaugh Flight Museum
This picture was taken this week at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum of their CASA 2111. The Spanish built version of the He 111. It flew in the movie The Battle of Britain and then went on serving with the Spanish Air Force after filming. I call this "hangar hunting" as you never know what will be stashed in a hangar while hunting for vintage airplanes at airports! There are no plans to return it to airworthy for now. But one day we can hope the airframe does return to the skies.

PBY Catalina Model
A couple weeks ago I finished up this Monogram 1/48 scale PBY Catalina model. Snagged it from a buddy in a partially built state. Used some on hand dark sea blue and yellow to make it look like a later model Catalina in a RESCUE scheme. Fun build. It just meant to be a nice model from a couple feet away, hanging in the office. Turning final to splash down!

Scale Aircraft Models
After all these years I still enjoy building scale aircraft models. With our son now helping with the builds AND selecting the NEXT builds it has been fun to work on new models. We visited a scale model show in Arlington, Texas this morning and snagged a few more aircraft for the collection. Highlighted below are a few awesome builds we saw on display.
In the next couple weeks I will post some pictures of some of our recent builds.
